The Canary Islands had everything a dream destination should offer—except a positive perception. After being hit by COVID-19 travel bans in 2020 and a volcanic eruption in 2021, the region struggled to attract European tourists back. High COVID transmission rates had further tarnished its image, leaving travelers hesitant. 

The mission? Reignite wanderlust and put the Canary Islands back on top as the ultimate European getaway. But traditional tourism ads wouldn’t cut it—we needed a new way to inspire travel. 

Enter “Discovering Canary Islands,” the first-ever pan-European branded reality show. In partnership with Rakuten TV Originals, this high-stakes adventure series turned the Canary Islands into the ultimate playground—where 8 contestants from 8 countries competed to uncover hidden myths, legends, and breathtaking landscapes. 

With 300+ minutes of pure entertainment, the show made the islands the true main character—showcasing their culture, traditions, and natural wonders in a way that felt real, exciting, and binge-worthy.
